3 Boating Tips for Alabama Freshwater
Going out on the boat is some of the most fun you can have during the late spring. When the weather is right and the breeze is blowing you can stay out for hours. Here are three simple tips as you go boating this May:
Tip-1 – Always have a spare charged-up battery on board. The reason for this is because if you have been hanging out with friends and fishing and not running the main gas engine very much but running your livewells and electronics for several hours, then you could be out of juice when you go to crank the motor. Believe me! it happens to many anglers.
Tip-2 – Always let someone know where you are going and an approximate time for your return. Too many anglers do not know how to handle their boats in rough water or you could break down and be stranded without communication, or for what ever the reason you cannot locate where you launched out. Try to carry a 2-way radio or charged cell phone in your boat and always expect the unexpected!
Tip-3 – KNOW YOUR SPEED LIMIT! Most bodies of water in Alabama don’t have speed limits but the ones that do watch out for the law because you will get a ticket, and that can surely ruin your day of fishing. A good angler will always follow and obey all Federal and State Laws and Regulations as well as always being courteous and thoughtful of others.
